Welcome! We are Lisa & Eric. Together 18 years, married almost 10 (gasp!). We live to travel and are at our best on the road, map in hand, making it up as we go along. In 2001, just a few years out of school, we jumped ship and explored, surfed, photographed, zip lined, and mangled Spanish across Costa Rica and Panama for 4 months. 12 years later we did it again, this time for an entire year. We rented our house, sold our cars, threw on backpacks and plunged ourselves into a year long journey that has now transformed into a lifestyle! We are now bonified digital nomads on year 6 of running our consulting/coaching businesses from strong wifi spots in gorgeous locations around the world. We thrive on zooming way out – exploring new cultures, making lifelong friends and gaining the perspective you can only get from stepping outside your bubble and having your mind blown to see what presents itself when you are open to the possibilities.
Hometowns: Marin County, CA (current). Durango, CO (Eric). Fairbanks, AK (Lisa)

I don’t quite understand why I should be the first to like your blog. It is fantastic! (Actually I don’t like it. I’m envious as hell!) 🙂 Keep moving!

Thank you!!
De rien! 🙂
Hello! Sounds like an amazing journey! How are you guys funding this/any tips for funding a year journey around the world? Thanks!!
Savings. I have tons of tips on budgeting/planning/saving – need to write a series of posts to share what I learned. Thanks for the inspiration! Will let you know when they are live. In the meantime check out Workaway.info – I’ve met several travelers traveling by volunteering in exchange for room & board from projects listed there. Anything from teaching English to working at yoga studios in Indonesia or horse farms in France. Pretty cool. Couchsurfing.com seems to also be a popular way to travel on a shoestring but I haven’t tried it yet.
